After watching the replay of the sideline play that Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy set up in Game 2, I decided to go back through my notes and find some other plays I have collected in the past that were used in various situations. These plays can be adjusted to the time and score of the game and the personnel you have on the floor.

Play 1 is from a box set. When the official hands the ball to 3, 1 cuts to the ball side corner. 4 and 5 form a stagger screen for 2. 2 cuts to the top. As 2 gets even with 5, 5 slip cuts to the basket. 3 looks to hit 5 with the pass. 2 and 1 must come to the ball if 3 cannot make the pass to 5.

Play 2 is also from a box set. As 3 gets the ball, 1 cuts to the top off 5, then off 4 to the opposite wing area.

5 then turns and screens for 2. 4 flashes to the ball after screening.

Play 3 starts with 2 cutting to the ball side box off 4.

As 2 clears, 4 and 5 then set a stagger screen for 1. 3 hits 1 with the pass.

With the ball in 1’s hands, 3 steps on the court and spots up as 4 and 5 stagger screen for 2.

The last play is Americas Play from a stack set. 1 cuts to the top and receives the pass from 3.

1 dribbles over as 2 steps out and back screens for 3. 3 cuts across the lane to the opposite corner.

4 and 5 now stagger screen for 2.
